Shifty Shellshock, Lead Singer of Crazy Town, Dies at 49
Seth Brooks Binzer, known by his stage name Shifty Shellshock, passed away on June 24, 2024.
The cause of death has not yet been released.
Binzer was born in Los Angeles on August 23, 1974. He began his music career in the early 1990s, and in 1999, he formed Crazy Town with DJ AM. The band's debut album, The Gift of Game, was released in 2000 and spawned the hit single "Butterfly." The song reached number one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and helped the album sell over two million copies worldwide.
Crazy Town released two more albums, Darkhorse in 2002 and Decadence in 2010, before disbanding in 2017. Binzer continued to perform as a solo artist and released his debut solo album, Rhythm & Freaks, in 2016.
Binzer's death is a loss for the music world. He was a talented musician and performer who helped to shape the sound of rap-rock in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He will be missed by his fans and fellow musicians alike.
