Barcolana 55: A Celebration of Excellence and Inclusivity

Record-Breaking Participation and Intense Competition

The 55th edition of the Barcolana regatta, held in Trieste, Italy, from October 6th to 9th, 2023, was a resounding success. With over 1,773 boats participating, including 1,100 that successfully completed the race, the event showcased the passion and determination of the sailing community. The competitive racing conditions, with strong winds, tested the skills and endurance of all competitors.

Honoring the Contributions of Sailors

The Barcolana Sea Summit, held during the event, paid tribute to the individuals who have dedicated their time and effort to making the Barcolana one of the most prestigious sailing events in the world. These individuals, whose contributions have been invaluable, were recognized for their unwavering commitment and passion for sailing.

Arca SGR Triumphs in the 55th Barcolana

After a thrilling race, Arca SGR emerged victorious, crossing the finish line first and securing the coveted Generali Trophy. The crew's exceptional teamwork and sailing prowess proved to be unstoppable, demonstrating the highest level of skill and determination.

Celebrating Women in Sailing

In recognition of gender equality in the sport, the Barcolana 55 presented the Generali Women in Sailing Trophy to Federica Tuniz. This award celebrates the contributions of women in sailing and encourages their participation in the sport at all levels.

A Barcolana for All

Beyond the competitive aspect, the Barcolana 55 emphasized inclusivity and accessibility. The Cruise class, open to less experienced sailors, provided an opportunity for everyone to participate in the joy of sailing. With over 121 awards honoring the top three crews in various categories, the Barcolana celebrated the achievements of all participants, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and love for the sport.
